Absorbent patient litter system [apls]
APLS Transport is a disposable litter designed to expedite the transportation of injured personnel to the appropriate medical facility.
Constructed with durable canvas and a highly absorbent cellulose core, APLS Transport can support up to 450 pounds of liquid or dry weight while absorbing blood, body fluids and other wet solutions.
APLS Transport also supports patient warming and is compatible with all litter systems as well as a kit/set package for hypothermia support.
APLS Transport's compact and lightweight design is small enough for a soldier to easily carry in their day pack or ruck sack, a police officer to store in a tight compartment of their trunk, and a search & rescue volunteer to carry in their backpack.
Each APLS Transport is individually packed in a water-proof bag, thus protecting the cellulose core from water damage and possible contamination.

APLS Transport includes several features that are suited for all echelons of medical care:
- Up to 4.5 liters of blood & bodily fluid contained with easy disposal
- Supports 420 - 450 LBS (190.51 - 204.12 Kg) wet or dry
- Leak proof poly backing
- Built-in thermal properties for warmth during transport

Construction
Material
APLS Transport is constructed with a highly absorbent cellulose core and a durable canvas that prevents liquids from leaking through the pad.
Handles
APLS Transport includes a total of eight reinforced handles that allow as many as six people to safely transport the affected individual.
Locker
Each APLS Transport includes a sealable pocket locker for patient documentation, medical notes and personal effects.
Straps
APLS Transport is equipped with two heavy-duty straps to ensure patient safety during transport. The straps can be adjusted to fit the size and orientation of the patient.
Binding
The perimeter binding provides additional strength to the APLS Transport while also serving as a barrier for any excess fluids that move through the cellulose core.
